Do my tenants need to create an account?
No. Each tenant gets a private link with a unique token — no app download, no account, no password. They click the link and can submit maintenance requests and view their lease.
Does RentPane process rent payments?
No, and that's intentional. Most small landlords already use Zelle, Venmo, checks, or cash. RentPane lets you record those payments however they arrive, without forcing everyone onto a new payment platform.
How does the AI receipt scanner work?
Snap a photo of any receipt. Our AI tool extracts the date, amount, vendor, and suggests an expense category. You review and confirm before anything is saved — it's a suggestion, not an automatic action.
Can I generate a Schedule E for my taxes?
Yes. RentPane's expense categories map directly to IRS Schedule E line items. Generate a report for any property and any year, then export to CSV for your accountant.
What happens if I go over my unit limit?
RentPane supports up to 50 units — more than enough for most independent landlords. If you need more, contact us and we'll work something out.
Can I share access with my accountant or partner?
Yes. Any RentPane subscriber can invite collaborators with editor or viewer roles. Great for accountants, property managers, or business partners.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — every new account gets a 14-day free trial. A credit card is required to start, but you won't be charged until the trial ends. Cancel anytime before then and you owe nothing.
Can I cancel anytime?
